Tournament Schedule

16U/19U Fall INVITATIONAL

Participation in the Section 11 16U/19U Invitational Tournament is by invitation only. Each participating Area is allocated a limited number of invitations, awarded at the discretion of Section 11. Teams from the fall season are reviewed and recommended by their home Region and/or Area for consideration. Each Region and Area may determine its own selection or qualification criteria based on local needs and circumstances. By accepting an invitation, participating teams agree to comply with all tournament rules and guidelines. Participation in any additional events or tournaments outside of this Invitational is subject to separate invitation and approval by the organizers of those respective events.

Tournament Check In

All coaches are required to check in at least 60 minutes before their first match at the Tournament Check-In Tent. During check-in, coaches must present the following documents:

  • A current Fall Season Coach Photo ID Card
  • Copies of each player's current Fall Season Medical Release Form
  • A signed copy of the team's Official Roster (from Affinity Sports)
  • Player ID Cards

Important: Digital or electronic versions of the Player Medical Release Forms will not be accepted. Only hard copies will be allowed during check-in.

COACH NOTES:
  • All Coaches and Assistant Coaches MUST have a current Season, Region issued, Coach Photo ID Card.
  • Coach and Assistant Coach ID Cards are REQUIRED for ALL Tournament Matches.
  • Coach and Assistant Coach ID Cards must be worn and remain visible at all times.
  • Player ID cards ARE required.
  • All players must be fully registered with AYSO for the current season.
  • Roster changes (adding/removing players to/from a fall roster) are NOT allowed.
  • Guest players are not allowed.
  • Coaches are required to have in their possession, AT ALL TIMES, copies of each players current Season Player Medical Release form. (Player Medical Release Forms in electronic or digital format, will NOT be accepted. Hard copies are required.)
  • Coaches and Assistant Coaches must be fully registered with AYSO, approved and rostered for the current season.
  • All Coaches and Assistant Coaches must meet the certification requirements as outlined per the AYSO National Coaching Program Guidelines.
  • If team uniform color conflict, home team (listed first on the schedule) to change uniform color.
  • Pre-approved lineup cards to be provided to Tournament Staff by Area/Region.
  • Tournament standings based on ten (10) point system.
  • All matches must start and end on time.
  • Pool Play Match Duration:
      • 16U = 2 x 30min halves
      • 19U = 2 x 30min halves
  • Semi-Final and Final/Championship Match Duration:
      • 16U = 2 x 40min halves
      • 19U = 2 x 45min halves
  • Halftime break NOT to exceed 5 minutes.
  • NO additional/extra time added for injuries or stoppages.
  • Pool play matches may end in a tie.
  • Semi-Final and Championship matches must have a winner. If tied at the end of the 4th quarter, winner to be determined by KFPM.
  • Players in the tournament will not be allowed to officiate.
  • Youth Referee participation in the Tournament is by invitation only.
  • Lineup cards will be reviewed by onsite Tournament staff.
  • Coaches are responsible for the conduct and behavior of themselves, their players, parents, and spectators on their sideline. Poor sportsmanship, verbal abuse and negative yelling will not be tolerated at any time and may result in being removed from the match, facility, or tournament.
  • Pets (i.e. dogs) are never allowed at AYSO games or practices.

REFEREE NOTES:
  • Referees must check in at the onsite Referee Tent at least 45 minutes prior to their first match and be properly dressed (in full uniform).
      • Yellow jersey, black referee shorts, and black referee socks with 2 or 3 stripes.
      • Appropriate AYSO Referee Badge (i.e. Regional, Intermediate, Advanced, National).
      • Hats are OK, but should be all black baseball style only.
      • Referees are encouraged to bring alternate colored jerseys, in case of color conflict.
      • Improperly dressed Referees may be replaced.
  • All referees must be fully registered with AYSO and approved for the current season.
  • All referees must meet the certification requirements as outlined per the AYSO National Referee Program Guidelines.
  • Referees must perform a player and field safety check before each match.
  • All Coaches and Assistant Coaches MUST have a current Season, Region issued, Coach Photo ID Card.
  • Coach and Assistant Coach ID Cards are REQUIRED for ALL Tournament Matches.
  • Coach and Assistant Coach ID Cards must be worn and remain visible at all times.
  • Check Coach and Assistant Coach for valid Coach ID Card.
  • Player ID Cards ARE required.
  • PRE-PRINTED lineup cards are required (to be provided by Tournament Staff).
      • Coach/Assistant Coach ID Cards must match pre-printed names on lineup card.
      • NO handwritten changes, besides jersey numbers, allowed to lineup card.
      • All changes, must be approved by the onsite Tournament Staff.
  • Lineup cards will be reviewed by onsite Tournament Staff.
  • Return team lineup cards and signed Tournament Game Card to the Tournament Referee Tent, immediately following the game. Tournament Game Card must be signed by each teams Head Coach and entire referee team. Total number of goals scored in each half and final goal total must be recorded prior to coaches signing.
  • Start and end all matches ON TIME.
  • Pool Play Match Duration:
      • 16U = 2 x 30min halves
      • 19U = 2 x 30min halves
  • Semi-Final and Final/Championship Match Duration:
      • 16U = 2 x 40min halves
      • 19U = 2 x 45min halves
  • Halftime break NOT to exceed 5 minutes.

  • All matches should be officiated by 'neutral' referees. Parents SHOULD NOT sign-up, to referee their own child's match.
  • Players in the tournament will not be allowed to officiate.
  • Youth Referee participation in the Tournament is by invitation only.
  • Each referee may only represent ONE team in the tournament.
  • Coaches and Assistant Coaches, participating in the tournament, MAY NOT referee matches within their respected division, regardless of pool. (i.e. 10UB Coach/Assistant Coach may not Referee 10UB matches - regardless of pool. 10UB Coach/Assistant Coach may referee 10UG Match)
  • Pets (i.e. dogs) are not allowed at AYSO games or practices.
Referees: Please report all player misconducts; player, coach and spectator incidents; injuries; field issues and guideline variations to the onsite Tournament Staff at the conclusion of the match.

COACH REQUIREMENTS

ALL AYSO coaches and assistant coaches must complete the following:
  • Be a registered and an approved volunteer for the current program/season (including background check clearance).
  • Must have completed the AYSO Safe Haven course.
  • Successfully completed the AYSO/CDC Concussion Awareness course.
  • Completed the AYSO Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Awareness course.
  • ALL Coaches must complete the AYSO Live Scan (Fingerprinting) process.
  • Safe Sport certification must be current/valid.
  • Be properly trained per the AYSO National Coaching Program Guidelines for the age/skill level of the team they wish to coach.

Tournament Guidelines

POOL PLAY STANDINGS

Standings for pool play games will be determined on the “ten-point system” as follows:
  • WIN = 6 points
  • TIE = 3 point
  • LOSS = 0 points
  • GOAL = 1 point (max 3 points)
  • SHUTOUT = 1 point
  • FORFEIT = 8 points (scored as a 1-0 win)
  • SEND OFF = 3 point deduction for each send off of a player or substitute.
  • EJECTION = 3 point deduction for each ejection of a team official or spectator.

Coaching Area

Each team is permitted up to two (2) certified and approved coaches (Head Coach and Assistant Coach). Both coaches must remain within the designated Coaches' Area throughout the match, regardless of whether the area is marked on the field.

The Coaches' Area is defined as a space that is 1 to 1½ yards behind the touchline and extends 10 yards on either side of the halfway line.

Note: When the Coaches' Area is not marked on the field, coaches should use the center circle as a reference point for positioning.

PET POLICY REMINDER

Please be aware that pets are NOT allowed at School fields - AT ANY TIME. The presence of pets at any school field, will lead to the revoking of our permits.

While some cities do allow leashed pets at city parks, they are NEVER allowed at the field during a practice or game.

For the safety of ALL our players and volunteers - please leave your pets at home.

AYSO is obligated to observe and respect existing regulations and laws regarding the presence of service animals at our fields. Service animals are defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as only dogs or miniature horses that have been trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Other animals, whether wild or domestic, do not qualify as service animals.
