What is Western State Championships

Bringing together AYSO teams from California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington states for the next step in sporting competition and celebrating the AYSO team experience.

Western States Championships

Acceptance into this Tournament is by INVITATION ONLY. A limited number of invitations are awarded to participating Sections. (Teams are reviewed and qualified by their home Section. Sections are free to use any selection criteria which best fits their circumstances.)

Participating teams agree to all tournament rules. Participation in events or tournaments, beyond/outside of this tournament, are by invitation of those events/tournaments only.

Team Check-In

All teams must check in at least 60 minutes before their first match. Coaches should come to the team check in tent on the east side of the snack bar with the following items.
  • RC approved and signed official roster (only Official Tournament Rosters generated from Affinity Sports will be accepted)
  • Coach & Assistant Coach photo ID Cards (must be MY26 issued ID card)
  • Player Medical Release Forms
  • Player photo ID Cards (must be MY26 issued ID card)

COACH NOTES:
  • All Coaches & Assistant Coaches MUST have a current fall season Region or Area issued, Coach Photo ID Card.
  • Coach & Assistant Coach ID cards must be worn and remain visible at all times during each match.
  • Coaches are required to have in their possession, AT ALL TIMES, copies of each players medical release form.
  • If uniform color conflicts, home team to change uniform color.
  • Standard Coin Toss.
  • All matches must have a winner. If tied at the end of the 4th quarter, winner to be determined by Penalty Kicks.
  • Game cards will be collected and reviewed by Tournament Staff.
  • Pets (i.e. dogs) are not allowed at AYSO games or practices.

Reminder: Pet Policy

Please be aware that pets are NOT allowed at School fields - AT ANY TIME. The presence of pets at any school field, will lead to the revoking of our permits.

While some cities do allow leashed pets at city parks, they are NEVER allowed at the field during a practice or game.

For the safety of ALL our players and volunteers - please leave your pets at home.

AYSO is obligated to observe and respect existing regulations and laws regarding the presence of service animals at our fields. Service animals are defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as only dogs or miniature horses that have been trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Other animals, whether wild or domestic, do not qualify as service animals.
